First haircut...

Mama and Ollie went to the salon yesterday and Ollie ended up with a cut! Ms. Laura just could not believe that we would let his poor little bangs get so long! He looks like a little man! Amelia also had her hair cut last week and it is the cutest little pixie cut ever! She looks so cute with her big eyes and stacked hair. She has to show everyone she sees that she got her hair cut. She is so proud! She is my little helper. She even goes to the door for me and tells the Schwann's man that we do not need anything. Isabelle had to keep her hair long because she likes it like Miley Cyrus! She is good about letting me brush it, though. Belle and I have been reading Little House on the Prairie at night together. She has many questions about them "eating their own animals." It is fun to explain these things! Preston has not stopped saying the funniest things! I was telling him the other day that he has "boats" for feet because they are so big. He looked at me and said "they are not boats, they are motorcyles." He has such a little imagination. Scott came out into the kitchen on Sat. and he had on a pink shirt. Preston said "Dad, why are you wearing a pink shirt? You look like a girl." More to follow...

Swing batter batter...

How can you now want to just eat him up??? He is such a monkey and smiles so wide it looks like it hurts! He lights up when he sees his brother. It is priceless. Preston had put his orange baseball hat on him and Ollie just laughed. It made me think of one of Amelia's favorite songs by Trace Adkins, "Swing." Or should I say "Swing Bata Bata..." like Milla says it. :) As I am sitting here with Scott blogging, Amelia comes in here and says that I need to dial H-O-2 on my cell phone so that I can connect with High School Musical. She said she saw this on TV. Only Amelia!!! It is Spring Break here so the kids are up a bit later than usual. Ashley is staying with us and we have been having fun playing, shopping, watching movies and playing Bratz girls! Tomorrow they are going to paint pottery with Aunt Beth and Maeda.

Potty time!!!

Well, I have been procrastinating BIG TIME in the potty training department. Isabelle and Amelia basically trained themselves and I just do not know what to do about this boy thing. I bought underwear (not as cute as girl panties) and I bought a potty chair with "guards" if you know what I mean. So, I put Small Paul underwear on Preston yesterday and went through 3 pairs in a matter of 45 minutes. First of all, how does a child pee so much. Second of all, there is no way I can do this all day with 3 other children running around!!! I decided I would just let him go commando and see what happened. Well, sure enough, I found him sitting on the potty going poop!!!! We were all so excited and he was of course excited to get 3 M&M's. Now I feel there is hope and he will not be entering Kindergarten wearing Pull Ups!!!

More funny things...

So I have continued my jotting down of things these silly kids say on a day to day basis. So, hope you enjoy these:

Preston: (while I am changing Oliver's diaper) "Mama, Ollie's p____ is broken."

Isabelle: (while eating her lunch and reading a sign I have on the wall) "Mama, I do not believe in miracles. I believe in my friends and my family and the teachers at school."

Preston: (while talking to Ms. Kristy on the phone and Amelia was trying to get the phone from him) "Moosie, stop it. I am on a conference call!"

Preston: (while backing out of Meredith's driveway) "Mama, why are we driving backwards?"

I just cannot get enough of the things they come up with. Quite honestly, I am amazed at the intelligence of Preston and the vocabulary he has. He is such a quick thinker and I forget that he is 2!

Easter 2008

This year we celebrated Easter by going to church at the 9:00 am service. The kids went to Sunday school and did special projects to celebrate the day. They made little Easter egg cake domes that had green coconut covering them. After church, we came home and had an Easter egg hunt with the Pomaranski family. Oh, I forgot to mention that Jaqueline's parents were here for Easter so they enjoyed all of the activities with us! The Easter egg hunt was a total success and the bunny hid MANY eggs in the basement! The older kids were very kind in letting the smaller ones get eggs too. :) Following the hunt, we headed up to the Country Club for brunch and it was so much fun!! We saw many of our friends there, as well as the Easter bunny! As you can see in the photo, Ollie slept through his very first photo session with Mr. Rabbit. The children spent most of their time decorating egg pictures and watching the Disney channel in the basement! We had a great day, however, that night the round of stomach flu began with Preston. He and Isabelle were the only ones who got it. (knock on wood) The Easter bunny brought hockey skates this year along with some books. He was confused as to which skates the girls wanted so he gave us permission to exchange them for ice skates. Needless to say, the girls are extremely excited to try them out! Nona and grandpa Kev came over for dinner. It was a very nice day!!!!
