Belle did AWESOME!!! It was actually her best performance yet, even though she got fourth place. We try to emphasize that it is not about what the judges think but about whether she was happy with how she did. Everything is subjective. She is not quite liking that idea but she's getting better. Why is it so hard to watch your child be so disappointed? Even though you want them to learn that it is not all about winning. It is amazing to me that these little girls even go out there on this rink in front of hundreds of people and perform by themselves. I could never have done this, not even now! I am so glad they are able to have this opportunity.

Cherry Classic...

Here is Amelia with a FIRST place ribbon!!!! Yeah Amelia!! We are so proud of you and we love you more than you know!!

Cheeseburger

Elijah is getting so big and it became even more real to me when he ate his first cheeseburger today! He is the happiest baby ever and he is so patient and will sit for a half hour waiting for his food. Since he is number 5 it is normal him to be last in getting fed. He does not cry or complain, he just sits with a huge grin on his face showing his new pearly whites. I love him so much. Just look at him 5 months ago.

Baptism

Sunday was Eli's baptism. It was a beautiful day and we were able to share it with most of our family and close friends. AS you will see by the pictures, Elijah is such a lucky little boy to have SO many people to love him! His birth mom and birth grandmother & great grandparents were there!!! Pastor Peter did a wonderful job presenting him and his story. We are so blessed to have Elijah!!!

National Cherry Festival Princess

When I get a phone call from Old Mission School, it is usually about Amelia wanting to come home because she feels "sick." But, when I got the phone call today from Marilyn, the secretary, she was so excited she could hardly get the words out. "Heather! I am just calling to tell you that Amelia has been chosen to be the Cherry Festival Princess for this year!!!" Wow!!! She went on to tell me about ALL of the responsiblities that go with this. That being said, we are sooooo happy for her!!!! What an experience! The schedule of things she gets to do that week are things I wish I could do. :) More to come...

Alyssa Czisny

One of the highlights of the weekend was that the girls had the opportunity to meet Alyssa Czisny, 2009 figure skating National Champion and member of the Detroit Skate Club. She is such a sweet girl and so patient with all the little ones waiting outside her locker room for her to come out and sign anything and everything, and I MEAN it. Her locker room was next to ours and so the girls would keep going back and have her sign something else. Even their skates. I guess we will not be selling this pair. Amelia's coach, Stephanie, made Alyssa's outfit (check it out) and did all the hand beading. She makes many of the skaters dresses, including several of the ones worn in the Olympics this year. Stephanie introduced Amelia to Alyssa and now Amelia tells everyone that they are friends. Hahaha. These kids have no idea how lucky they are to have had this experience! We are so thankful!
